LKY: The Experience: A Chronological Journey Through Lee’s Life and Legacy

LKY: The Experience is an exhibition commemorating the life and legacy of Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first Prime Minister.

The exhibition is housed in a three-story building and spans over 17,000 square feet with 20 immersive rooms, making it one of the largest interactive exhibitions that have been dedicated to the late Lee Kuan Yew.

Lee Kuan Yew: Vision, Leadership, and Legacy

This exhibition takes visitors on a chronological journey through Lee’s life, from his childhood and education to his early political career, Singapore’s independence in 1965, and his years as Prime Minister.

Visitors can learn about Lee’s vision for Singapore, his leadership style, and the challenges he faced during his time in office. The exhibition is highly interactive and features a variety of multimedia exhibits, hands-on activities, and re-imagined memories.

For example, visitors can step into a replica of Lee’s office, sit in on a Cabinet meeting, and experience the Battle for Singapore through a virtual reality simulation.

Once you enter the exhibit, you will be greeted by a showcase of 100 narratives from Singaporeans who share their personal experiences of Lee Kuan Yew, how he contributed to and influenced their lives, and the importance of his role.

These people include Lee’s chef, tailor, security team, and even average citizens sharing their stories.

Then you will move onto the 3 main zones, “The Moments” which will include interactive exhibits portraying key aspects of Mr. Lee’s early life, his journey as a husband and father, and the pivotal moments that influenced his political perspectives. “The Beliefs” the second zone located at level 2 will showcase specially designed spaces featuring interactive activities based on Mr. Lee’s life, principles, and inspirations.

Within these themed rooms, visitors will encounter engaging challenges, including an obstacle course and a rainbow slide, which symbolises his famous words: “Follow that rainbow, go ride it.” The last zone at level 3 “The Unwritten” encourages you to write the rest of the story, to take the values and lessons you learnt from Mr Lee and apply them to your life all while following “that rainbow” and living a joyous life.

This interactive exhibit is arguably the best interactive exhibit that is attributed to Lee Kuan Yew’s 100th birth anniversary and is a must-see for all generations.

Whether you’re a longtime admirer of Mr. Lee or just curious to find out more, be sure to stop by and learn why he was truly one of a kind.
