The event kicks off with the finals of GRAFFIGHT, where top graffiti artists from Batam go head-to-head in a live spray paint battle from 12-6PM. Watch creators AhdiaOne, ANTZ and SINIC collaborate on a new piece on the Centre’s side wall in a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of legal wall graffiti.

See six more stunning murals by various groups come to life simultaneously on the adjacent back wall and side alley.

A packed lineup of free stage performances then keeps the creativity flowing at the Multipurpose Hall. Catch “Urban Immersion” improv comedy by The Improv Company at 12PM, incorporating wacky audience suggestions. At 1:30PM, dancers present a rhythmic showcase of Indian classical art Bharatanatyam through “Roots”, with select attendees invited on stage.

At 3PM, Nadi Singapura’s “PLA-BANO” celebrates Malaysian percussion like the Gendang Melayu.

Then at 4 and 4:30PM, appreciate rarely-seen Chinese Opera through 10-minute Teochew pop-up acts. From 6PM, local hip hop collective Urban Sounds hosts rising rap talents YAØ, Khally and Akeem Jahat.

Those wanting hands-on creative fun can also sign up for a $20 Improv Comedy Taster Workshop from 1:30-3:30PM or 4-6PM to learn techniques applicable in daily life. Two back-to-back immersive theatre productions under the theme “Memory Theatre” also run from 7:30PM spanning meditation, historiography and social themes. Tickets are $15 each. You can find more details and book your tickets here.

The event culminates in communal merriment at the graffiti backdrop, as the Re:Union Party from 9-10PM fuses street dance face-offs with dynamic music. Through cover-to-cover culture, from visual arts showcases to folk arts performances and indie merch booths, support local talents while getting your creativity fill.
